AAU to Launch MBA Degree in
ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 24 (WIC) – The Addis Ababa University Senate has decided that the Faculty of Business Administration and Economic will begin to give an MBA level education in Business Administration, the university external relations office announced. Office head Dr. Bruk Hailu told WIC that the AAU Senate, at its meeting last January 21,
decided that the programme will begin as of the second semester beginning next month.
Noting that the AAU had long thought of launching the MBA programme in the field, Dr. Bruk said the university has engaged itself in the last few years to planning the course and preparing the required manpower.
According to Dr. Bruk, any person holding first degree in Accounting, Management, Public Administration, Economics, Technology, business education or statistics from the same faculty may apply for the new programme.
The two-year MBA programme receives 20 students every year, it was learnt.
According to Dr. Bruk, this is the first time an MBA degree course in given in the country. The launching of the programme is intended to meet the manpower needs especially in the fields of Management, Public Administration and Business Education.
