Over 1000 Students Receiving Agricultural Training In Amhara
Bahir Dar, January 08, 2002 (WIC) – The Agricultural and Technical Training coordination
Office of Amhara State said more than one thousand students were undergoing training in five
agricultural training institutes in the State.
Office Head Zemene Tassew told WIC recently that of the 1,068 students undergoing the
training, 914 were students who scored 2.5 and above in the national 10th grade examination.
He said the remaining 154 students, who joined the institutes from Somali, Oromia and
Southern Peoples States, were those who scored 1.6 and above in the national examination.
Zemen said the students would, during their three-years stay in the institutes, receive
training in crop production, horticulture, cattle fattening, handling of hides and skin, poultry,
apiary and afforestation, among others.
