ARDA Graduates 80 Roving Health Workers
Ayssaita, February 16(WIC) The Afar Rural Development Association (ARDA) graduated yesterday 80 roving health workers who would render medical service to the pastoralist population.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Training Programme Co-ordinator with ARDA, Mussa Mohammed, said the trainees, who graduated with certificate following a three-month training, were drawn from some seven woredas of the
Mussa further said that the health workers had received theoretical and practical training in environmental science, personal hygiene, midwifery and mother and child care education.
According to the programme co-ordinator, ARDA had disbursed well over 80,000 birr for the purchase of medical equipment, to be used by the willing health workers.
It is to be recalled that ARDA had trained 361 roving health workers and 127 teachers over the past two years.
