Public Library Inaugurated in Bahir Dar


Bahir Dar, September 24 (WIC) - The Jerusalem Child Care Organizationlast Friday inaugurated a 2 million birr public Library in Bahir Dar, Capitalof the Amhara State.


Ato Mulugeta Gebru, Director of the Organization, said theLibrary was built with money provided by an Ethiopian Philanthropist AtoWondwosen Mengesha, and family. The Library has been named "The AbaMengesha Geneme Library", after the late father of the philanthropist, itwas learnt.


The Public Library, which rests on 8,000 square meters ofland in kebele 15 of the town, can accommodate 120 readers at a time, Mulugetaindicated.


The library was inaugurated by Ato Ahmed said, Head ofSocial affairs at the Amhara State Council.
