Over 770,000 Birr School Upgrading Work Undertaken In Debre-Berhan Town

 

   Debre-Berhan, March 07, 2002 (WIC)-Work on Expansion of an elementary school in

   Debre-Berhan town, North Showa Zone Amhara State, which was launched with an

   outlay of over 770,000 birr has been finalized.

 

   Speaking at the handover ceremony, Construction Committee Chairman, Tessema

   Bekele said additional four classrooms; a library and laboratory have been constructed

   by the fund obtained from the Japanese Embassy, donor agencies and with contribution

   by the local people.

 

   He also said that the school would have the capacity to enroll 400 additional students.

 

   Meanwhile the northwestern Tigray zone Education Department said it has been

   offering adult education to 13,789 people in the zone. It said 3,725 of the stated school

  enrollments attendants were girls.
