Court Sentences German Citizen to One-year Imprisonment
Awassa, July 30, (ENA) - The Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples State Supreme Court has sentenced a German who was found guilty of ownership of Cannabis and opium to two- years suspended prison terms.
The court passed the verdict after it found the 39-year-old German guilty of illegally growing and abusing the drugs while working as an anthropologist in Jinka town in the state.
The court had earlier sentenced the culprit one-year term but that was changed when he pleaded guilty.
The convict was also fined 10,000 birr.
