Health Net International Launches MCH Programmes
GAMBELA, March 21 (WIC) – The non-governmental organization called Health Net International said it has allocated 3.5 million Birr for launching of mother and child care programmes in Kemashe zone of Benishangul Gumuz State. The organization's programming head Mr. Helmut Heirong told WIC yesterday that the allocated money will be used for purchasing medicaments, and for launching environmental health programmes and vaccination campaign against the six killer diseases.
Over 65,000 people are expected to become beneficiaries of the programmes, Mr. Helmut said.
Meanwhile, the head of the state's health bureau Dr. Abeje Zegeye said the organization's health care programmes will make considerable contributions to effort being made to contain mothers' and children's diseases.
