Ministry To Distribute School Text Books on HIV/AIDS
Addis Ababa, December 14, 2002 (WIC)- The Ministry of Education disclosed that it will distribute text books on HIV/AIDS in schools in a bid to strengthen the fight against the spread of the pandemic among students.
Educational Program Support and Followup Team Leader with the Ministry, Kasu Abdi told WIC the books will be distributed in primary and Secondary Schools.
He said 210,000 of such text books will be distributing among students while 25,000 of teaching manuals are intended for teachers.
The books were prepared following through studies undertaken on how best to bring behavioural changes among students and the younger generation.
He noted that recorded messages on audio and video cassettes will also be distributed among anti-AIDS clubs in 460 high schools in the Country.
