 Hope Enterprise To Sponsor Education Of 360 Needy Children In

   Gambella, August 24, 2002 (WIC)- The Gambella Branch Office of Hope Enterprise

   disclosed that it has finalized preparations to sponsor the education of 360 needy children in

   the next academic year.

 

   General Manager of the Branch office, Solomon Tesfaye, told Walta that the sponsorship

   would enable the children to have access to education in government and the Enterprise's

   schools.

 

   Accordingly 220 children will benefit from the opportunity by attending classes in primary

   schools of the Enterprise with full provision of food and closing, he said.

 

   The remaining 140 children will attend government schools while living with their families who

   will receive 65 birr per month for subsistence, it was learnt.

 

   Solomon disclosed that the Enterprise has earmarked 9.7 million birr to finance similar projects

   in the next five years of which 872,000 birr has been slated for the next academic year.

 

   The Enterprise is now supporting 240 needy children attending education in primary and

   kindergarten schools with their families receiving  65 birr per month.
