Makale University College Graduates 22 Veterinary Technicians

MAKALE, Jan. 3 (WIC) The Makale University Collage has for the first time graduated with certificates 22 professionals trained as veterinary technicians. According to Ato Mintesinot Behailu, Vice dean of the university, the graduates who obtained intensive 9-month training in theoretical and practical education came from the Gol-gol Raya Comprehensive Development Project and the Afar Agricultural Bureau.

Noting that there are over 12 million farm oxen in the country capable of doing the work of over 300,000 tractors, Ato Mintesinot said a great deal is expected from these veterinary technicians in protecting the health of these animals.  The opening of veterinary training project in the University College of Makale is believed to bolster the training capacity of the Debre Zeit Veterinary Centre, Ato Mintesinot said.
