PURPOSE: The mission of NFID is: to support research that will lead to

a better understanding of the causes, cures, and prevention of

infectious diseases; to encourage and sponsor public and professional

education programs; to aid in the prevention of infectious diseases.

2000 POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN NOSOCOMIAL INFECTION RESEARCH AND TRAINING

The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) invites

applications for the 2000 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Nosocomial

Infection Research and Training sponsored by NFID and Hoechst Marion

Roussel, Inc. This fellowship is intended to encourage a qualified

physician researcher to become a specialist and investigator in the

field of nosocomial infections. Priority will be given to fellows in

or entering into infectious diseases training. The fellowship will be

awarded for a period of one year and will commence on July 1, 2000.

2000 FELLOWSHIP IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES

The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) invites

applications for the 2000 NFID Fellowship in Infectious Diseases

sponsored by NFID and Glaxo Wellcome Inc. This fellowship is intended

to encourage and assist qualified physicians to become specialists and

investigators in the field of infectious diseases. Priority will be

given to fellows in or entering into infectious diseases training. The

fellowship will be awarded for a period of one year and will commence

on July 1, 2000.

2000 JOHN P. UTZ POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN MEDICAL MYCOLOGY

The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) invites

applications for the 2000 John P. Utz Postdoctoral Fellowship in

Medical Mycology sponsored by NFID and Pfizer Inc. This fellowship is

intended to encourage a qualified physician to become a specialist and

investigator in medical mycology. Priority will be given to fellows in

or entering infectious diseases training. The fellowship will be

awarded for a period of one year and will commence on July 1, 2000.

TROPICAL DISEASE RESEARCH
