 Exodus Of Teachers In Oromia Affects Learning-Teaching Process In The State

 

   Addis Ababa, May 18 (WIC)- The increasing exodus of secondary school Teachers in Oromia

   State have severely affected learning - teaching process, the State’s Education Bureau said.

 

   Regular Education Department Head with the Bureau, Edossa Kofelcha told WIC today that

   104 senior secondary school teachers had left their schools of assignment this academic year.

 

   He said the remaining teachers were compelled to teach more than one subjects in Bale,

   Borena, West wollega and Arsi zones of the State where shortage of teachers was particularly

   serious.

 

   He attributed the reason among others to irregularities in the evaluation and transfer of

   teachers.

 

   He said the Bureau in collaboration with the State Council has passed a new directive

   pertaining to the evaluation of teachers’ performance.
