Collective Efforts Said Needed to
ASSOSSA, Feb. 28 (WIC) – The Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Abune Paulos, has said that the cooperation of the entire society is needed to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS disease.
In a benediction he gave in Assossa town last Friday to the EOC faithfuls, the patriarch stressed that preventing the spread of the disease is not the responsibility of the youth
alone, but indeed of all sections of the society—parents, religions organizations and the civil society.
He said the disease could not have spread in the first place had the people obeyed the divine instruction of sticking to a one-to-one sexual relationship.
During the two-day stay in Assossa, the patriarch visited various public institutions and churches and held discussions with members of the society on how to protect oneself
