Trainees in Educational Radio Programmes Graduate
Addis Ababa, August 21, 2001 (WIC) - The Ethiopian Educational Media Agency graduated today 12 teachers who received training in the presentation of educational radio programmes.
Documentation Service Head of Educational Media Programmes and Researches with EMA, Wolde Andrie, said at the graduation ceremony that the teachers drawn from Dire Dawa Administration had taken a six[-week training in radio presentations of courses on language and social and natural sciences to primary school students.
Representative of the graduates, Girma Cherinet, said on his part that the training was given to the teachers in accordance with the new educational policy which aims, among others, at enabling regional states to carry out their own educational programmes on radio.
He also said that such topics as communication, responsibilities in radio programme presentations, professional ethics and script writing were included in the training.
Expenses for the training were covered by the Dire Dawa Administration.
