Educational Radio To Start Transmission In Somali State In September
GODE, August 28 (WIC) – The construction of a radio station that will broadcast educational programmes in the Somali Regional State, has been completed, the state's Education Bureau announced.
Ato Abdi Delal, Head of Educational Materials Distribution and Supervision Department, said the radio station, built in the centrally located town of Gode, at the cost of 5 million Birr, would start transmission in the Somali Language next academic year in September.
Educational mass-media experts from the Federal Ministry of Education are conducting training for about 35 local teachers, who will be producing education programmes for the radio station, Abdi said.
The radio station will broadcast programmes that will complement lessons for primary school students, in addition to specialized programme broadcasts for adults.
