Private School Inaugurated in Sidama

 

   Awassa, July 09, 2001 (WIC)-  A Junior High School constructed in Yirgalem Town, Sidama

   Zone, by an entrepreneur at a cost of three million birr was inaugurated yesterday.

 

   The school, to be operational in the next academic year, will enroll more than one thousand

   students.

 

   School owner, Wogene Atnafu said he was prompted to construct the school as there were

   very few schools in the town to render service to the town's children and youths.

 

   According to reports from the Investment Office of the Southern Nations Nationalities and

   Peoples State, of the total of 700 investment projects operating in the state with an

   aggregate capital of 3.5 billion birr , only twenty were educational projects.
