School for Vocational Training Readied in DDA
Dire Dawa, February 16 (WIC) The Education and Culture Office of the Dire Dawa Administration (DDA) said four high schools were made ready to receive students completing their tenth grade education this year.
Mengistu Haile, Educational Programmes Team Leader with the Office, told Walta Information Centre today that the schools have made preparations to offer trainings to the students in commerce, automechanics, metal and wood works, electricity and Electronics, among others. The training would last from one to two years.
About 52 teachers, holders of degrees and diplomas, were made available to train the incoming students in all the four schools, Mengistu said.
A bid document for the supply of computers, reference books and other equipment was submitted to the Ministry of education, he said, adding that a total of two million birr was allotted for the purchase of the materials.
