WE.S.M.C.O to Launch Diverse Development
ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 15 (WIC) – The Welfare for the Street Mothers and Children Organization (WE.S.M.C.O) said it is undertaking construction of various
development activities in Addis Ababa and Benishangul-Gumuz State with an outlay of over five-million Birr during the current European year. Organization general manager Ato Eshetu Mengistu disclosed here yesterday that residents of woreda 2, 4, 5, 11 and 25 of Addis Ababa will benefit from the development projects. Ato Eshetu told WIC that the organization will provide credit and training services and conduct AIDS orientation programmes in addition to building potable water supply and toilet systems.
According to Ato Eshetu, the organization will also launch construction of rural social development projects aimed at achieving food self reliance and also build water supply systems.
It is to be recalled that the organization recently signed a quarter of a million Birr aid agreement with the Embassy of Canada for sinking seven deep water wells in the state. The organization also obtained financial assistance from Britain and the Netherlands with which various development activities have been carried out, he said.
